Tased Man Allowed to File LawsuitThe 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that a tennis instructor who was tased after becoming upset during a traffic stop can file a lawsuit in an attempt to recover damages. The Court stated that “the use of Tasers and similar devices must be justified by a strong government interest that ‘compels’ the employment of such force.” The Court went on to say that short of a verbal or physical threat against a police officer no such government interest exists.
